Celebrating the life of Jimmy Douglas Brown.

WHEREAS, Jimmy Douglas Brown, a business owner who served generations of motorists in Southwest Virginia and a beloved member of the Richlands community who inspired others through his faith and generosity, died on October 11, 2026; and

WHEREAS, a proud, lifelong resident of Richlands, Jimmy Brown attended local public schools and graduated from Richlands High School in 1966; and

WHEREAS, Jimmy Brown played an important role in the community as the owner and operator of Jim's Precision Bodyworks, providing expert auto body repair services for decades until his well-earned retirement in 2013; and

WHEREAS, Jimmy Brown was a passionate car enthusiast and won numerous awards for his collectible and classic cars; he was also an avid motorcyclist and an accomplished traveler, who had visited 48 states while riding on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle; and

WHEREAS, Jimmy Brown enjoyed fellowship and worship with the community as a member of Raven Assembly of God, where he served as a deacon for many years; and

WHEREAS, Jimmy Brown will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia; his children, Dede and Jason, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of Virginia hereby note with great sadness the loss of Jimmy Douglas Brown, a highly admired member of the Richlands community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Jimmy Douglas Brown as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's respect for his memory.
