HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2187

Commending the Greater Fredericksburg Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.



Agreed to by the House of Delegates, June 22, 2026

WHEREAS, the Greater Fredericksburg Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., an organization proudly serving the communities of Fredericksburg and Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford Counties, celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026; and

WHEREAS, the Greater Fredericksburg Chapter of Jack and Jill of America is one of 271 chapters nationwide organized under Jack and Jill of America, Inc., an organization dedicated to helping children grow and thrive through programming that emphasizes cultural awareness, educational development, health education and advocacy, civic and legislative advocacy and service, and social and recreational activity; and

WHEREAS, the Greater Fredericksburg Chapter of Jack and Jill of America was installed on October 16, 2016, with a mission to uplift children and families through events, partnerships, and acts of service; and

WHEREAS, the charter members of the Greater Fredericksburg Chapter of Jack and Jill of America are LaTanya Arthur, Tamara Jones Barnes, Ayonda E. Batts, Rochelle Bazemore-Fountain, A. Nancy Carroll, Michelle Cartagena, Nicole Tarlton Cole, Hope R. Coleman, Natasha Monique Edlow, Nancy T. Ellis, Elena P. Gold, Donna Gordon Green, Penny Juggins Hairston, Anedra Henley-Logan, Ellise Mussington-Vigilant, Belinda A. Porter, Rachel Samuel, Giovonni Hargraves Smith, Sukeena Whiteman Stephens, Victoria Hogan Sulyans, Talethia H. Thomas, Mia Newell Valentine, Deirdre Powell White, and Alicia Frenzley Wilkerson; and

WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Greater Fredericksburg Chapter of Jack and Jill of America have been honored at the national and regional levels of the Jack and Jill of America organization through various recognitions and awards, including National Legislative Winner (1st Place), Regional Teen Program of the Year, Most Improved Regional Chapter, and the Blue-Ribbon Bylaws Certificate of National Achievement; and

WHEREAS, with great compassion and an unwavering commitment to serve, the Greater Fredericksburg Chapter of Jack and Jill of America has made a profound and lasting impact on countless children and families in the Greater Fredericksburg community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Greater Fredericksburg Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., hereby be commended on the occasion of its 10th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Greater Fredericksburg Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's contributions to Fredericksburg and the Commonwealth.
