HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2167
Celebrating the life of Patsy Jane Rose.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, June 22, 2026
WHEREAS, Patsy Jane Rose, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and beloved member of the Middleburg community, died on February 5, 2026; and
WHEREAS, after graduating from Marshall High School in 1956, Patsy Rose served as a secretary for naval intelligence with the United States Department of the Navy at the Pentagon; and
WHEREAS, Patsy Rose devoted many years to raising her children, helping them to achieve success and fulfillment in all of their endeavors; and
WHEREAS, in later years, Patsy Rose served as secretary to the headmaster at The Hill School in Middleburg and then with the event management company VNU Expositions, Inc., in Chantilly before retiring in 2002; and
WHEREAS, Patsy Rose gave generously of her time in support of her community through her service with local parent teacher associations and the Middleburg Board of Zoning Appeals and as a longtime election day volunteer; and
WHEREAS, guided throughout her life by her faith, Patsy Rose enjoyed worship and fellowship with her community at Marshall United Methodist Church in Marshall; and
WHEREAS, preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Hunter, and her sons, Barry, Garry, and Larry, Patsy Rose will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her daughter, Kelly, and her family and by numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Patsy Jane Rose, a treasured member of the Middleburg community whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Patsy Jane Rose as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her memory.
