HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2113

Commending Joon.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, June 22, 2026

WHEREAS, Joon, an upscale Persian restaurant in Tysons Corner, was selected as a RAMMYS Awards finalist by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington on April 6, 2026; and

WHEREAS, the RAMMYS Awards recognize exceptional members of the Washington, D.C., area's food service industry; as a finalist, Joon was one of the top contenders across 20 award categories honored for their culinary innovation and leadership; and

WHEREAS, known for blending authentic Persian flavors with modern techniques and culinary artistry, Joon was selected in the Upscale Casual Restaurant of the Year category for its high standards of dining excellence and legacy of service to the community in and around Tysons Corner; and

WHEREAS, Joon has been instrumental in raising funds for nonprofits, supporting families and children affected by food insecurity and displacement; and

WHEREAS, Joon has become one of the most respected voices in food, culture, and hospitality in the region; the restaurant was previously selected as the Best Restaurant in Virginia by readers of Washingtonian magazine and was featured on the Top 50 Favorite Restaurants list by the New York Times; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Joon hereby be commended on the occasion of its selection as a RAMMYS Awards finalist in 2026; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Joon as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the restaurant's contributions to the vibrant dining scene in Northern Virginia.
