HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2108

Commending Arlington Public Schools' recipients of The Posse Foundation scholarships.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, June 22, 2026

WHEREAS, in the 2025–2026 school year, three students in Arlington Public Schools received four-year college scholarships to partnering institutions of higher education from The Posse Foundation; and

WHEREAS, The Posse Foundation presented full-tuition scholarships to Lucas Lopez, who will attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison; Elisha Gooden, who will attend the University of Rochester; and Lary Renderos Reyes, who will attend The College of William & Mary; and

WHEREAS, in addition to their scholarships, The Posse Foundation will also provide these students with comprehensive programmatic support over their next four years in college; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Arlington Public Schools' recipients of The Posse Foundation scholarships hereby be commended for their hard work and dedication to their studies; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Arlington Public Schools' recipients of The Posse Foundation scholarships as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for their academic achievements and best wishes in their future endeavors.
