HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2078
Commending the Reverend Dr. Warren D. Choice.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, June 22, 2026
WHEREAS, the Reverend Dr. Warren D. Choice has provided outstanding leadership to the York County community as pastor of Cary's Baptist Church for seven years; and
WHEREAS, a native of Gray Court, South Carolina, Dr. Choice holds degrees from Gardner-Webb University, the University of Phoenix, and Liberty University; he answered the call to the ministry in 1993 and was licensed and ordained in July of that year; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Choice faithfully served in prison ministry at James Crabtree Correctional Center in Helena, Oklahoma, and as director of development at Hope Outreach, a nonprofit services organization in Enid, Oklahoma; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Choice also fulfilled lay minister duties at several United States Air Force bases worldwide, including in the Azores, Turkey, and England; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Choice was elected as senior pastor of Cary's Baptist Church in February 2019 and has demonstrated a deep commitment to the affairs of the church and the business of caring for God's people; under his leadership, the congregation has grown in faith and taken a more active role in community life; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his religious leadership, Dr. Choice has served as a probation and parole agent, a youth sports director, and a civilian employee of the U.S. Department of Defense for 25 years until his retirement in 2024; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Choice currently works for the York County School Division in operations and is on the football coaching staff for the York High School Falcons; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Reverend Dr. Warren D. Choice hereby be commended for his service as senior pastor of Cary's Baptist Church; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Reverend Dr. Warren D. Choice as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his legacy of spiritual leadership in York County.
