Commending EastLake Community Church.

WHEREAS, EastLake Community Church in Moneta celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026, marking two decades of faithful ministry, community service, and spiritual leadership in the Smith Mountain Lake region; and

WHEREAS, EastLake Community Church began as a small gathering of believers united by a vision to deliver the Gospel to other members of their community; through steadfast commitment, prayer, and service, it has grown into a vibrant congregation that now impacts thousands of lives; and

WHEREAS, under the leadership of Pastor Troy Keaton and several other dedicated staff members and volunteers, EastLake Community Church has expanded its ministries to include worship services, youth and children's programs, outreach missions, discipleship opportunities, and community support initiatives that strengthen families and foster hope; and

WHEREAS, EastLake Community Church has played a vital role in the spiritual and civic life of the region, partnering with local organizations, supporting first responders, assisting families in need, and serving as a source of comfort and unity during times of hardship; and

WHEREAS, the resilience, compassion, and community spirit of the EastLake Community Church congregation were especially evident after the tragic death of longtime member Robert Stouffer in June 2026; and

WHEREAS, throughout its 20-year history, EastLake Community Church has remained committed to its mission to “help people find and follow Jesus,” and the church's continued growth stands as a testament to the dedication of its members and the strength of its ministry; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That EastLake Community Church hereby be commended on the occasion of its 20th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to EastLake Community Church as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the church's contributions to the residents of Moneta and the Smith Mountain Lake region.
