Commending Regester Chapel United Methodist Church.

WHEREAS, Regester Chapel United Methodist Church has served the residents of Stafford County for generations and has played an important role in the spiritual, educational, and civic life of the community since the 19th century; and
WHEREAS, records indicate the presence of the congregation in Stafford County as early as 1880, and the first church building associated with Regester Chapel was documented in conference records in 1883; and
WHEREAS, throughout its history, Regester Chapel United Methodist Church has demonstrated perseverance and faith, including by rebuilding after a tornado destroyed its church building in 1923 and by continuing worship services and church school activities while a new sanctuary was constructed; and
WHEREAS, Regester Chapel United Methodist Church has continually adapted to meet the needs of its growing congregation, expanding its facilities and ministries and establishing a new church campus on Bells Hill Road, where the congregation continues its mission of worship, fellowship, and service; and
WHEREAS, Regester Chapel United Methodist Church has supported the Stafford County community through ministries serving children, youth, families, and older adults, including educational programs, Scouting ministries, child care services, and community outreach initiatives; and
WHEREAS, through generations of faithful leadership and service, Regester Chapel United Methodist Church has contributed to the moral, spiritual, and civic development of Stafford County and the surrounding region; and
WHEREAS, the congregation at Regester Chapel United Methodist Church continues to provide opportunities for worship, education, fellowship, and service while preserving the rich heritage of one of Stafford County's longstanding faith communities; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Regester Chapel United Methodist Church hereby be commended for its longstanding service to the residents of Stafford County and the Commonwealth; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Regester Chapel United Methodist Church as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the congregation's enduring commitment to faith, service, and community.
