Commending the Christiansburg High School boys' soccer team.

WHEREAS, the Christiansburg High School boys' soccer team won the Virginia High School League Class 3 state championship on June 13, 2026, to capture the first boys' soccer state title in Christiansburg history; and

WHEREAS, the Christiansburg High School Blue Demons displayed spectacular form during the regional tournament, defeating Lord Botetourt High School 6–0 to win the Region 3D championship; and

WHEREAS, in the state quarterfinals, the Christiansburg High School Blue Demons overcame a stiff challenge from Rocktown High School in a 1–0 victory followed by a clutch 2–0 victory in the semifinals over Meridian High School; and

WHEREAS, the Christiansburg High School Blue Demons secured the state title with a decisive 4–2 victory against Brentsville District High School at Emory & Henry University; and

WHEREAS, the 2026 state championship culminated in a spectacular late-season surge for the program, during which the Blue Demons won six consecutive games to finish the year with an impressive 17–4–1 record; and

WHEREAS, the Christiansburg High School Blue Demons boys' soccer team serves as an outstanding source of community pride exemplifying dedication, discipline, and competitive spirit; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, That the Christiansburg High School boys' soccer team hereby be commended on the occasion of its 2026 Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class 3 state championship victory; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Christiansburg High School boys' soccer team as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for the team's historic breakthrough and commitment to athletic excellence.
