Commending Janine Kenna Dozier.

WHEREAS, Janine Kenna Dozier, who has served as executive director of the Virginia Discovery Museum in Charlottesville since 2015, will conclude her service with the institution in September 2026; and
WHEREAS, as executive director of the Virginia Discovery Museum, Janine Dozier leads an institution committed to nurturing intellectual curiosity and development for all children through a variety of educational exhibits, programs, and events; and
WHEREAS, over Janine Dozier's tenure, the Virginia Discovery Museum increased its annual admissions from 45,000 to over 65,000 visitors and cultivated transformational community partnerships with 64 regional agencies serving families and children; and
WHEREAS, Janine Dozier left her mark on the Virginia Discovery Museum by spearheading teen programming, launching teaching and research opportunities for University of Virginia faculty and students, and fostering the institution's longevity through the establishment of its first long-term endowment; and
WHEREAS, Janine Dozier effectively led three capital campaigns to support improvements at the Virginia Discovery Museum, raising funds to finance renovations of 100 percent of the museum's physical plant, including its historic carousel; and
WHEREAS, with extraordinary passion, dedication, and vision, Janine Dozier has helped the Virginia Discovery Museum become one of the Commonwealth's leading institutions for children and an important reason Charlottesville is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Janine Kenna Dozier hereby be commended as she concludes her service as executive director of the Virginia Discovery Museum; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Janine Kenna Dozier as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her contributions to Charlottesville and the Commonwealth and best wishes in her future endeavors.
