Commending the Virginia School Boards Association.

WHEREAS, the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) was established in 1906 to support and strengthen local school board leadership throughout the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, for 120 years, the VSBA has served as a leading advocate for effective local school governance and has provided resources, training, policy guidance, legal support, leadership development, and advocacy services to the Commonwealth's school boards; and

WHEREAS, the VSBA has played an important role in advancing public education by promoting informed decision-making, fostering collaboration among educational leaders, and supporting school boards in their efforts to provide high-quality educational opportunities for all students; and

WHEREAS, throughout its history, the VSBA has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the principles of local governance, community engagement, and continuous improvement in public education; and

WHEREAS, generations of school board members, educators, association leaders, and staff have contributed to the success and longevity of the VSBA, helping to shape educational opportunities for millions of Virginia students over the course of its history; and

WHEREAS, the VSBA continues to serve as a respected and trusted partner to school boards across the Commonwealth as they address the opportunities and challenges facing public education in the 21st century; and

WHEREAS, 2026 marks the 120th anniversary of the VSBA, providing an opportunity to celebrate its legacy of service and its enduring commitment to supporting the Commonwealth's public schools and the students they serve; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Virginia School Boards Association hereby be commended on the occasion of its 120th anniversary for its longstanding dedication to supporting local school board leadership and advancing public education throughout the Commonwealth; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Virginia School Boards Association as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for its 120 years of service to the Commonwealth.
