Commending DT Fest.

WHEREAS, DT Fest in Ashburn, one of the largest Nepali cultural festivals in the United States, commemorates its fifth anniversary in 2026; and
WHEREAS, DT Fest was established by members of the Nepali diaspora in the United States to bring the community together during Dashain and Tihar, two major Hindu festivals held annually in Nepal; and
WHEREAS, DT Fest draws more than 10,000 attendees each year to honor and cherish the traditions, music, art, and heritage of Nepal through concerts and performances, exhibitions and cultural showcases, food and artisan markets, a kite festival, youth competitions, and more; and
WHEREAS, DT Fest offers a safe and interactive space with games, workshops, crafts, and more for the benefit of youth attendees and their families, ensuring the event has engaging activities for all ages; and
WHEREAS, the success of DT Fest is a testament to the steadfast support of its partner organization, the PKP Tender Hearts Foundation, which plays an invaluable role in coordinating the festival's events, special guest appearances, and performances; and
WHEREAS, by providing an opportunity to celebrate Nepali culture and inspiring younger generations of Nepali-Americans to embrace their heritage and traditions, DT Fest has made a positive and lasting impact on countless lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That DT Fest hereby be commended for its mission and legacy of achievements on the occasion of its fifth anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to representatives of DT Fest as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the festival's contributions to Northern Virginia and the Commonwealth.
