Commending JR Real Estate Group.

WHEREAS, for 10 years, JR Real Estate Group has promoted principled growth and made significant contributions to increasing the housing supply in the Commonwealth as one of the leading property developers in Northern Virginia; and

WHEREAS, JR Real Estate Group was established in 2016 by Mohamed Swilam and Saif Rahman, both of whom have more than 20 years of experience, to invigorate housing development in Northern Virginia through the creation of thoughtfully designed communities that foster inclusivity, connection, and a high quality of life for residents; and

WHEREAS, Mohamed Swilam's extensive portfolio in land development includes large-scale, mixed-use, and multi-family projects in Egypt, while Saif Rahman has cultivated extensive expertise in land acquisition, community planning, and public relations, making them well suited to the continuously growing property development landscape in Northern Virginia; and

WHEREAS, over the course of its history, JR Real Estate Group has invested more than $40 million in the Commonwealth and initiated projects worth more than $450 million in the region; the firm has brought 2,500 homes to the market, including 200 affordable homes, across Fairfax County, Prince William County, and Spotsylvania County; and

WHEREAS, JR Real Estate Group has earned numerous accolades in the industry, including the 2022 Homebuilder of the Year by the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association; and

WHEREAS, JR Real Estate Group is committed to community engagement and philanthropic giving, contributing a portion of proceeds from every completed development to local initiatives and charitable organizations; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That JR Real Estate Group hereby be commended for its achievements as a leader in property development in Northern Virginia on the occasion of its 10th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to JR Real Estate Group as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for the organization's work to develop affordable housing and for its contributions to the Commonwealth's vibrant economy.
