Commending Jennifer Tierney.

WHEREAS, Jennifer Tierney, a Virginia native, has promoted civic engagement and provided support to dozens of campaigns for elected office and ballot measures as the owner and principal of Gemini Group; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer “Jen” Tierney grew up in West Point and worked for an environmental consulting firm in Washington, D.C., after graduating from The College of William & Mary; and
WHEREAS, Jen Tierney subsequently moved to San Diego, California, and spent 10 years working for the San Diego County Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures, where she helped farmers navigate and comply with environmental regulations and served as a liaison for schools and the medical community on Africanized honeybees, also known as “killer bees”; and
WHEREAS, in 1999, Jen Tierney established Gemini Group to support candidates for elected office at all levels of government; under her leadership, the organization was a forerunner of developing campaign websites at a time when they were underutilized by local and state campaigns; and
WHEREAS, Jen Tierney frequently returns home to Virginia to serve as a volunteer and has provided her leadership and expertise to several local Democratic Party committees and organizations in the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Jennifer Tierney hereby be commended for her achievements as owner and principal of the Gemini Group; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jennifer Tierney as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her contributions to the democratic process and commitment to civic engagement.
