Commending the Martinsville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

WHEREAS, for 70 years, the Martinsville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., has exemplified the principles of achievement, service, and brotherhood while making a profound and lasting impact on the community; and

WHEREAS, the Martinsville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity was founded on January 5, 1911, at Indiana University Bloomington and today has hundreds of undergraduate and alumni chapters throughout the United States and abroad; and

WHEREAS, the Martinsville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity aims to uplift people and families in need through a variety of civic engagement and community service initiatives; and

WHEREAS, the Martinsville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity has long supported mentorship and scholarship programs to help the future young leaders of Martinsville and Henry County grow and succeed; and

WHEREAS, guided by the fraternity's motto, “Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor,” the members of the Martinsville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity have excelled across many industries, enhancing the organization's ability to make a positive difference in the lives of others; and

WHEREAS, through its members' leadership and commitment to excellence, the Martinsville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity has helped to make Martinsville a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Martinsville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., hereby be commended for its legacy of service on the occasion of its 70th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Martinsville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's contributions to Martinsville and the Commonwealth.
