Commending Jackie Pelham Edmonds.

WHEREAS, Jackie Pelham Edmonds, head coach of the Hopewell High School girls' basketball team, recorded her 200th career win as a head coach on February 27, 2026; and

WHEREAS, Jackie Edmonds has been the head coach of the Hopewell High School Lady Blue Devils since 2015, and her historic win brought her career head coaching record to an impressive 200–65; and

WHEREAS, Jackie Edmonds' coaching milestone was doubly sweet, as her Hopewell Lady Blue Devils became the 2026 Virginia High School League Region 3A champions with the win; and

WHEREAS, over her 21 years as both a high school and travel basketball coach, Jackie Edmonds has notably led her teams to two state championship appearances and one national Adidas championship; and

WHEREAS, with an unwavering commitment to excellence and to her players' growth and well-being, Jackie Edmonds has epitomized what it means to lead as a coach, earning the respect and esteem of all Virginians; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Jackie Pelham Edmonds, head coach of the Hopewell High School girls' basketball team, hereby be commended on the occasion of her 200th-career win; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jackie Pelham Edmonds as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her achievement and best wishes for her continued success.
