Celebrating the life of Alice Sigmon Hall.

WHEREAS, Alice Sigmon Hall, a highly admired public servant in Franklin County who dedicated more than five decades of service to the community as a longtime member of the Franklin County Circuit Court Clerk's Office, died on April 27, 2026; and

WHEREAS, Alice Hall grew up in Franklin County and began her education at the Lanahan School, a two-room schoolhouse, before ultimately graduating from Franklin County High School in 1952; and

WHEREAS, after graduation, Alice Hall gained work experience in various office positions, then joined the Franklin County Circuit Court Clerk's Office, where she helped ensure efficient operations within the court system and provided important services to members of the public; and

WHEREAS, Alice Hall served under two Franklin County Circuit Court clerks, then ran for and was elected to the position of clerk herself; she retired after 55 years of service to the Franklin County community, having demonstrated the utmost professionalism, integrity, and commitment to excellence over the course of her career; and

WHEREAS, Alice Hall enjoyed fellowship and worship with the community as an active member of Redwood United Methodist Church; and

WHEREAS, predeceased by her husband, Van Buren, and her son, Steven, Alice Hall will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her daughter-in-law, Lesley; her grandchildren and great-grandsons; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Alice Sigmon Hall, an esteemed public servant in Franklin County; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Alice Sigmon Hall as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her memory.
