GOVERNOR'S VETO

Pursuant to Article V, Section 6, of the Constitution of Virginia, I veto House Bill 1392.

Without additional study or a clear public safety benefit, I do not support mandating new statewide security screening exemptions at courthouses. Any such statewide changes to security protocols should be based on clear evidence that such changes would have no impact on — or ideally, improve — public safety.

Accordingly, I veto this bill.
