HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2036
Celebrating the life of Louis A. Boone.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, April 23, 2026
WHEREAS, Louis A. Boone of Dumfries, a dedicated student, a loving son, and a bright light in the lives of all who knew him, died in March 2026; and
WHEREAS, a freshman at Norfolk State University (NSU), Louis Boone was majoring in mass communications and broadcast and served as a photographer on the university newspaper, the Spartan Echo, where he was admired for his work ethic, eagerness to learn, and positive spirit; and
WHEREAS, Louis Boone was a member of the NSU Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists and the NSU Content Creator Club; he also volunteered with the WNSB Hot 91.1 FM radio station; and
WHEREAS, Louis Boone will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by numerous family members and friends; and
WHEREAS, the NSU community will remember and celebrate the life of Louis Boone, whose spirit will forever echo through the halls of his beloved institution, where generations of Spartans will continue to “Behold the Green and Gold” and carry forward his legacy of pride, perseverance, and enduring impact; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Louis A. Boone, a beloved resident of Dumfries and a promising student at Norfolk State University; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Louis A. Boone as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
