Commending Alex Kelly.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, April 23, 2026

WHEREAS, Alex Kelly, an esteemed teacher with Virginia Beach City Public Schools, was named Princess Anne High School's Teacher of the Year for 2026; and

WHEREAS, Alex Kelly works tirelessly to create a learning environment that supports students' needs and enables them to thrive; and

WHEREAS, with steadfast dedication to students' well-being, Alex Kelly devotes time to recognizing and addressing the issues impacting students, building their trust and improving their educational outcomes; and

WHEREAS, one of Alex Kelly's greatest strengths as an educator is his ability to forge relationships and bonds with students and colleagues, while also helping students better connect with one another; and

WHEREAS, with great compassion and a desire to help others, Alex Kelly has embodied the ideals of the education profession, helping to make Virginia Beach a more wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Alex Kelly hereby be commended for being named the 2026 Princess Anne High School Teacher of the Year; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Alex Kelly as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his contributions to the growth and development of young people in the Commonwealth.
