HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2016

Commending Meghan Pankau.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, April 23, 2026

WHEREAS, Meghan Pankau, an esteemed teacher with Virginia Beach City Public Schools, was named Providence Elementary School's 2026 Teacher of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Meghan Pankau works tirelessly to create a supportive learning environment that enables her students to thrive; and

WHEREAS, one of Meghan Pankau's greatest strengths as an educator is her ability to forge relationships and bonds with her colleagues and students, while also helping her students better connect with one another; and

WHEREAS, demonstrating her steadfast dedication to her students' well-being, Meghan Pankau devotes time to recognizing and addressing the issues impacting her students, building their trust and improving their educational outcomes; and

WHEREAS, known for her compassion and desire to help others, Meghan Pankau has embodied the ideals of the education profession, helping to make Virginia Beach a more wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Meghan Pankau hereby be commended for being named the 2026 Providence Elementary School Teacher of the Year; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Meghan Pankau as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her contributions to the growth and development of young people in the Commonwealth.
