Commending Jessica Epps.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, April 23, 2026

WHEREAS, Jessica Epps, an esteemed teacher with Virginia Beach City Public Schools, was named Lynnhaven Elementary School's Teacher of the Year for 2026; and

WHEREAS, Jessica Epps works tirelessly to create a learning environment that supports her students' needs and enables them to thrive; and

WHEREAS, with steadfast dedication to her students' well-being, Jessica Epps devotes time to recognizing and addressing the issues impacting her students, building their trust and improving their educational outcomes; and

WHEREAS, one of Jessica Epps' greatest strengths as an educator is her ability to forge relationships and bonds with her students and colleagues, while also helping her students better connect with one another; and

WHEREAS, with great compassion and a desire to help others, Jessica Epps has embodied the ideals of the education profession, helping to make Virginia Beach a more wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Jessica Epps hereby be commended for being named the 2026 Lynnhaven Elementary School Teacher of the Year; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jessica Epps as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her contributions to the growth and development of young people in the Commonwealth.
