Commending The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa.



Agreed to by the Senate, April 23, 2026

WHEREAS, The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa, established in 1766, stands as one of the oldest and most storied resorts in the United States, with a remarkable legacy spanning 260 years; and

WHEREAS, throughout its long and distinguished history, The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa (The Homestead) has welcomed generations of Virginians and visitors from across the nation and around the world, including 24 presidents of the United States, dignitaries, and other esteemed guests, all drawn by the resort's natural beauty, warm hospitality, and enduring charm; and

WHEREAS, The Homestead has served not only as a destination, but also as a gathering place where relationships are built, ideas are exchanged, and memories are made, all contributing meaningfully to the civic and cultural life of the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, as a cornerstone of Bath County and the surrounding region, The Homestead has played a vital role in supporting the local economy, creating jobs, and sustaining a tradition of excellence in hospitality that reflects the very best the Commonwealth has to offer; and

WHEREAS, even as it honors its rich history, The Homestead continues to evolve, ensuring that future generations will experience the same sense of welcome, connection, and tradition that has defined it for more than two-and-a-half centuries; and

WHEREAS, in addition to its renowned accommodations, The Homestead features fine dining, the historic Warm Springs Pools, championship golf courses, a spa, and adventure activities such as archery, axe throwing, and falconry; and

WHEREAS, the 260th anniversary of The Homestead offers an opportunity to reflect on its enduring legacy and to recognize the countless individuals, both past and present, whose vision, hard work, and dedication have made the resort a true Virginia treasure; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa hereby be commended on the occasion of its 260th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for the resort's legacy of extraordinary contributions to Bath County and the Commonwealth.
