HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2055

Commending the Hunter Mill Democratic District Committee.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, April 23, 2026

WHEREAS, the Hunter Mill Democratic District Committee, a district committee of the Fairfax County Democratic Committee and a nonprofit political organization that promotes civic engagement and democratic values in the Hunter Mill District of Fairfax County, will celebrate its long history of service to the community at its 50th Annual Lasagna Dinner on April 25, 2026; and

WHEREAS, the Hunter Mill Democratic District Committee (the Hunter Mill Democrats) promotes grassroots organizing in one of Fairfax County's most vibrant and diverse areas, which encompasses the innovative planned community of Reston and parts of Vienna and Herndon; and

WHEREAS, over the course of its history, the Hunter Mill Democrats has supported leaders who have helped the Hunter Mill District become known for its commitment to environmental sustainability, technological innovation, and inclusive economic development; and

WHEREAS, the Hunter Mill Democrats' Lasagna Dinner is the organization's premier annual event, which has grown into a beloved local tradition, bringing together members of the community for an evening of great food and fellowship; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Hunter Mill Democratic District Committee hereby be commended for its decades of service to the residents of the Hunter Mill District and legacy of contributions to the broader Fairfax County community and the Commonwealth; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Hunter Mill Democratic District Committee as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's longstanding support for the democratic process.
