Celebrating the life of Marcella Mary McCarthy Corbett.

WHEREAS, Marcella Mary McCarthy Corbett of Alexandria, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who touched countless lives in the community through her passion for volunteer service, died on March 12, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Marcella “Marcie” Mary McCarthy Corbett grew up in Washington, D.C., and began to cultivate her deep faith from a young age, attending the Holy Trinity School in Georgetown; and
WHEREAS, Marcie Corbett ultimately settled in Alexandria, where she raised a large, tight-knit family and imparted to them her kindness, generosity, grace, and dedication to improving the lives of others; and
WHEREAS, Marcie Corbett worked as a Realtor with McEnearney Associates, Inc., helping numerous individuals and families throughout the region find the perfect home; and
WHEREAS, Marcie Corbett volunteered her time and talents to support the Inova Mount Vernon Hospital Auxiliary, The Twig, Catholic Charities, and Hospice of Northern Virginia, now known as Capital Caring Health; and
WHEREAS, Marcie Corbett also served on the boards of Inova Fairfax Hospital and the Washington Regional Transplant Consortium, now known as Infinite Legacy, a nonprofit organ procurement organization that serves patients in hospitals throughout Northern Virginia; and
WHEREAS, predeceased by her husband, Bernard, Marcie Corbett will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Kim, Kasey, Kevin, Karen, Kelly, and Kerry, and their families and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Marcella Mary McCarthy Corbett, a devoted volunteer leader and beloved resident of Alexandria; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Marcella Mary McCarthy Corbett as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her memory.
