Celebrating the life of Mary Gay Cobb Koerber.

WHEREAS, Mary Gay Cobb Koerber, a beloved member of the Haymarket community, died on October 7, 2025, leaving a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness; and

WHEREAS, after graduating from West Springfield High School, Gay Koerber earned a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1972, followed by a master's degree in 1974, from George Mason University; and

WHEREAS, Gay Koerber devoted decades of her career to serving the needs of homeless veterans with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs; and

WHEREAS, Gay Koerber demonstrated extraordinary generosity and concern for the well-being of others both in her professional and personal life, and her friendship was a cherished gift to many; and

WHEREAS, Gay Koerber will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her son, Chuck, and his family and by numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Mary Gay Cobb Koerber, a treasured member of the Haymarket community whose loving spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others made an impact on countless lives; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Mary Gay Cobb Koerber as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for her memory.
