Commending Kaicey Manns.

WHEREAS, Kaicey Manns, a mathematics teacher at James Breckinridge Middle School, was named Teacher of the Year by Roanoke City Public Schools at the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center on November 18, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Kaicey Manns has been a teacher at James Breckinridge Middle School for 11 years, working tirelessly to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures her students' academic, social, and emotional growth; and
WHEREAS, Kaicey Manns has developed a number of methods and strategies to engage her students and deepen their understanding of fundamental mathematics concepts, preparing them for future success both in and out of the classroom; and
WHEREAS, Kaicey Manns gives generously of her time to aid her students and fellow colleagues through various school leadership roles, including as a school mentor and as mathematics department chair; and
WHEREAS, Kaicey Manns was named Teacher of the Year by a committee of Roanoke City Public Schools employees and retirees, who recognized her unique ability to connect with students and to make them feel welcomed and appreciated at school; and
WHEREAS, with an unwavering commitment to her students and to the well-being of the community she serves, Kaicey Manns has embodied the ideals of the education profession, earning the praise and admiration of all Virginians; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Kaicey Manns for being named Teacher of the Year by Roanoke City Public Schools in the 2025-2026 school year; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Kaicey Manns as an expression of the General Assembly's high regard for her contributions to education in Roanoke and the Commonwealth.
