SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 111
Commending the Centreville Volunteer Fire Department.
Agreed to by the Senate, March 10, 2026
WHEREAS, the Centreville Volunteer Fire Department, a distinguished organization dedicated to protecting life, property, and the environment in Centreville and Fairfax County, celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2025; and
WHEREAS, established in 1950, the Centreville Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) is one of 12 private, nonprofit fire and rescue companies working in collaboration with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department to provide emergency and non-emergency services in Fairfax County; and
WHEREAS, the CVFD currently operates out of two stations, Fire Station 17 on Old Centreville Road and Fire Station 38 on O'Day Drive, enhancing the company's operational readiness and ability to serve the community; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the CVFD are the result of the tireless dedication of the company's volunteer firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and administrative personnel, who give generously of their time to support career Fairfax County firefighters and ensure the welfare of Centreville's residents; and
WHEREAS, with great courage and commitment, the CVFD has bolstered public safety and emergency preparedness in Centreville and helped to make Fairfax County a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That the Centreville Volunteer Fire Department hereby be commended on the occasion of its 75th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Centreville Volunteer Fire Department as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for the organization's contributions to Fairfax County and the Commonwealth.
