SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 118
Commending Robert T. Hall.
Agreed to by the Senate, March 11, 2026
WHEREAS, Robert T. Hall, a distinguished personal injury attorney in Northern Virginia, has touched the lives of countless individuals through his commitment to fairness, justice, and service to those in greatest need over the course of more than 60 years in the legal profession; and
WHEREAS, a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and the Georgetown University Law Center, Robert Hall became one of the most well-known attorneys in Northern Virginia and has been recognized across the country for his commitment to excellence; and
WHEREAS, over the course of his career, Robert Hall took hundreds of cases to trial, often against overwhelming odds, proudly standing beside individuals who had suffered injuries and indignities or individuals who had been falsely accused of crimes or wrongly incarcerated; and
WHEREAS, Robert Hall has been involved in some of the Commonwealth's most complicated and difficult cases, many of which have even been the subject of books, and he has been frequently called upon as an expert witness in court; and
WHEREAS, among his many high-profile cases, Robert Hall obtained exoneration for a man who was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death, and he achieved a civil settlement against a purported infertility expert, aggregating $2.4 million, for defrauding his vulnerable clients; and
WHEREAS, Robert Hall has been a sought-after lecturer and presenter on a range of topics, and he has authored numerous articles and books, including Grief and Loss: Identifying and Proving Damages in Wrongful Death Cases, which he coauthored with a grief therapist; and
WHEREAS, deeply respected in the legal profession, Robert Hall has offered his insights and leadership to numerous peer organizations, and he received the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Robert T. Hall hereby be commended for his decades of tireless work in the pursuit of justice; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Robert T. Hall as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for his legacy of compassionate service to countless clients and contributions to the legal profession.
