SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 288
Commending the Loudoun County High School girls' soccer team.

WHEREAS, the Loudoun County High School girls' soccer team won the Virginia High School League Class 4 state championship on June 14, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Loudoun County High School Captains defeated the Woodgrove High School Wolverines of Loudoun County by a score of 1–0 to bring home the state championship title; and
WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Captains controlled possession of the ball throughout the championship contest and sealed the win with Claire Engelberger's goal with 19:20 remaining in the first half; and
WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Captains were led throughout the season by Kallie Harris, who was named the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class 4 Player of the Year; Emily Horst, Kendall Schwanda, and Madison Whitt, who received VHSL Class 4 All-State 1st team honors alongside Harris; and head coach Chelsea O'Bruba, who was named the VHSL Class 4 girls' soccer Coach of the Year; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Loudoun County Captains are the result of the hard work and dedication of the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of their coaches and teachers, and the unwavering support of their families and the entire Loudoun County High School community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Loudoun County High School girls' soccer team for winning the 2025 Virginia High School League Class 4 state championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Chelsea O'Bruba, head coach of the Loudoun County High School girls' soccer team, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's achievement and best wishes for the program's continued success.
