SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 286

Commending the Riverside High School golf team.

WHEREAS, the Riverside High School golf team of Loudoun County won the Virginia High School League Class 5 state championship on October 14, 2025, at Bristow Manor Golf Club in Prince William County; and

WHEREAS, the Riverside High School Rams finished the competition with a score of 303 to defeat the runner-up Deep Run High School Wildcats of Henrico County by six strokes, bringing home the program's second state championship title and its first since 2021; and

WHEREAS, the Riverside Rams' victory was a total team effort, with all four of its qualifying golfers finishing the contest with scores under 80 strokes; and

WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Riverside Rams are the result of the hard work and dedication of the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of their coaches and teachers, and the unwavering support of their families and the entire Riverside High School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Riverside High School golf team for winning the 2025 Virginia High School League Class 5 state championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Paul Gartland, coach of the Riverside High School golf team, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's achievement and best wishes for the program's continued success.
