SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 266

Commending the Freedom High School boys' indoor track and field team.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 12, 2026

WHEREAS, the Freedom High School boys' indoor track and field team of South Riding won the Virginia High School League Class 5 state championship in March 2026; and

WHEREAS, the Freedom High School Eagles achieved a team score of 57.5 to claim the state crown; and

WHEREAS, Freedom High School's Aram Bamyr finished first in the shot put event, while Josh Johnson finished first in the 55-meter dash; the team also claimed second place in the 4x200-meter relay; and

WHEREAS, the outstanding team result is a tribute to the skill and determination of all the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of coaches and staff, and the unwavering support of the entire Freedom High School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Freedom High School boys' indoor track and field team; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Freedom High School boys' indoor track and field team as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's achievements.
