SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 262
Commending the Broad Run High School girls' tennis team.

WHEREAS, the Broad Run High School girls' tennis team of Ashburn earned its second consecutive state title with a victory in the Virginia High School League Class 4 state championship in 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Broad Run High School Spartans defeated a talented team from Jamestown High School by a score of 5–1 with outstanding performances from senior Izzy Rotaru, sophomore Lexi Rotaru, and junior Sienna Bhide; and
WHEREAS, the Rotaru sisters clinched the team state title with a dominant 6–1, 6–0 victory in the top doubles slot and won an individual doubles state title with a 6–1, 6–2 win over a duo from Jamestown High School; and
WHEREAS, Izzy Rotaru also won an individual singles state title with a 6–1, 6–1 victory over a player from Salem High School; and
WHEREAS, the successful season is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of all the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of coaches and staff, and the unwavering support of the Broad Run High School community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Broad Run High School girls' tennis team; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Lydia Rollins, head coach of the Broad Run High School girls' tennis team, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's achievements.
