SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 227

Celebrating the life of Daniel Robert Frye.

WHEREAS, Daniel Robert Frye, a dedicated firefighter who took every opportunity to support others and give back to the community in Manassas and Prince William County, died on May 7, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Daniel “Dan” Frye was born in Fairfax to Henry Frye and Debra Compton and graduated from Manassas Park High School in 2005; and

WHEREAS, Dan Frye worked for Science Applications International Corporation as a security team manager and was proud of the company's role in supporting national defense; and

WHEREAS, Dan Frye safeguarded local residents as a life member of the Yorkshire Volunteer Fire Department and provided outstanding leadership to the department as president for 18 years; and

WHEREAS, Dan Frye supported veterans through his work with Robert V. McMaugh American Legion Post 10 in Manassas and service on the Manassas Veterans Day Parade Board of Directors; and

WHEREAS, Dan Frye was passionate about cooking and barbecue and operated FryeDaddy BBQ as a side business; he loved creating new recipes with his young son, Colton, who has followed in his father's footsteps as a talented cook; and

WHEREAS, Dan Frye will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his son, Colton; his fiancé, Rebecca Knoch; his parents, Debra and Chuck Compton and Henry and Debbie Frye; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Daniel Robert Frye; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Daniel Robert Frye as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
