Commending the Gamma Omega Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

WHEREAS, the Gamma Omega Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., has greatly served the Suffolk and Franklin communities for many years; and

WHEREAS, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., was founded on November 12, 1922, at Butler University and today has hundreds of affiliate chapters advancing a plethora of service initiatives around the world; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Gamma Omega Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority give generously of their time and resources to lead and support an array of programs in the Greater Hampton Roads region; and

WHEREAS, the Gamma Omega Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority's programs and initiatives are devoted to youth development, educational enrichment, women's and public health, and community empowerment; and

WHEREAS, the Gamma Omega Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority assists families and nurtures future leaders through mentorship programs, scholarship initiatives, and partnerships with local schools and organizations; and

WHEREAS, guided by the sorority's core principles of sisterhood, scholarship, and service, the Gamma Omega Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority has made a profound and lasting impact on countless lives; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That the Gamma Omega Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., hereby be commended for its legacy of service in pursuit of its mission; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Gamma Omega Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for the organization's contributions to Suffolk, Franklin, and the Commonwealth.
