Commending the Gamma Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

WHEREAS, for 50 years, the Gamma Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., has nurtured the character and leadership skills of its members while enhancing the quality of life in the communities of Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads; and

WHEREAS, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity was founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C., in 1911 and has grown to encompass more than 750 chapters throughout the world, with many honorable members who serve as leaders in a wide variety of fields; and

WHEREAS, since its founding in 1976, the Gamma Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity has supported a variety of programs promoting education, mentorship, leadership development, and community service; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Gamma Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity have led at the district and national level of the organization, advancing Omega Psi Phi's mission for the benefit of countless individuals and families; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Gamma Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity put service above self through their commitment to providing inspiration and guidance to youth, assistance to their local communities, and leadership to the fraternity and the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, the Gamma Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity will celebrate its golden anniversary while hosting the 93rd annual Third District Meeting of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity in Virginia Beach from April 9 to April 12, 2026; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Gamma Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., hereby be commended on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Gamma Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's contributions to Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads, and the Commonwealth.
