Commending Mozelle West Perry.

WHEREAS, Mozelle West Perry, a vibrant member of the Richmond community, has touched countless lives through her kindness, grace, and commitment to servant leadership; and

WHEREAS, Mozelle Perry was born on April 16, 1936, in Chester and began to cultivate her deep faith at a young age as a member of First Baptist Church Centralia; and

WHEREAS, Mozelle Perry graduated from Carver High School, where she was a member of the girls' basketball team, then studied business at Virginia Union University for one year before returning home to work with her grandmother as a midwife in Chester and the Tri-Cities; and

WHEREAS, in 1956, Mozelle Perry married the love of her life, Lloyd Linwood Perry, and the couple raised three daughters, Robena LaFern, Patricia Lynn, and Victoria LaMone; as the proud matriarch of her family, she relishes every opportunity to nurture and care for her loved ones or impart to them her wisdom and life lessons; and

WHEREAS, over the course of her career, Mozelle Perry worked at Siegel's Supermarket, Miller Manufacturing, and Honeywell, from which she retired after 28 years of service; after her retirement, she worked as a security officer at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for five years; and

WHEREAS, Mozelle Perry has enjoyed fellowship and worship with the congregation of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church for 55 years, serving as a deaconess, a church clerk, and a member of several ministries; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Mozelle West Perry hereby be commended for her legacy of service to the Richmond community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Mozelle West Perry as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her personal and professional achievements and best wishes for the future.
