Celebrating the life of Brian Lindsay Fortna.

WHEREAS, Brian Lindsay Fortna, a beloved member of the Reston community who was admired for his resilience and dedication to service, died on December 25, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Brian Fortna grew up in Reston, where he attended Buzz Aldrin Elementary School, Herndon Middle School, and Herndon High School; he was a talented multisport athlete, who was a valued member of the soccer, basketball, and cross country teams, and he excelled in academics as a member of the National Honor Society; and

WHEREAS, Brian Fortna earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity; a proud Hokies fan, he never missed a football game in his four years of undergraduate study and attended most home basketball games; and

WHEREAS, Brian Fortna joined Level 3, Inc., as a sales engineer and was part of the company's federal government sales organization for seven years; he subsequently joined the cybersecurity firm Everfox, where he continued to work in federal government sales and enjoyed helping clients enhance their cybersecurity posture; and

WHEREAS, Brian Fortna will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his parents, Lee and Bob; his brother, Daniel, and his family; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of Virginia hereby note with great sadness the loss of Brian Lindsay Fortna; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Brian Lindsay Fortna as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's respect for his memory.
