Commending Slater Run Vineyards.

WHEREAS, Slater Run Vineyards in Fauquier County won a gold medal in the Virginia Governor's Cup in 2026 with its 2025 pétillant naturel sparkling rosé and silver medals for its 2021 First Bridge, 2022 sparkling wine, 2024 chardonnay, and 2024 rosé of merlot; and
WHEREAS, Slater Run Vineyards was founded by Chris Patusky and Kiernan Slater Patusky, who is a descendant of the Slater family that has been farming along Goose Creek in Virginia for three centuries; and
WHEREAS, Slater Run Vineyards began growing grapevines in 2010 and today produces 19 different wines, the majority of which come from grapes grown on its 13 acres of vineyards; and
WHEREAS, the staff at Slater Run Vineyards works tirelessly to produce exceptional wine while being responsible stewards of the land, ensuring their farm's sustainability and productivity for years to come; and
WHEREAS, with an unwavering commitment to honoring the agricultural traditions of Virginia and producing high-quality wine, Slater Run Vineyards has brought great pride and distinction to the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Slater Run Vineyards hereby be commended for winning one gold medal and four silver medals in the 2026 Virginia Governor's Cup; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Slater Run Vineyards as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the vineyard's achievements and best wishes for its continued success.
