Commending Landstown High School.

WHEREAS, for 25 years, Landstown High School in Virginia Beach has offered its students guidance, compassion, and transformational educational opportunities, contributing to their success both in and out of the classroom; and

WHEREAS, Landstown High School opened in 2001 and was the first high school in Virginia Beach to be built in the 21st century; and

WHEREAS, Landstown High School's state-of-the-art facility is the site of Virginia Beach City Public Schools' first Technology Academy and has an array of educational amenities to foster students' talents and interests, such as a performing arts complex, physical education complex, and media center; and

WHEREAS, the administration, faculty, and staff of Landstown High School work tirelessly every day to cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures students' academic, social, and emotional well-being; and

WHEREAS, Landstown High School challenges its students with a rigorous and demanding education while providing the resources and assistance they need to succeed, empowering them to achieve their full potential; and

WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Landstown High School are the result of the visionary leadership of its administration, the hard work and dedication of its faculty and staff, and the unwavering support of its families and the entire Virginia Beach community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Landstown High School in Virginia Beach hereby be commended on the occasion of its 25th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Landstown High School as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the school's contributions to Virginia Beach and the Commonwealth.
