Celebrating the life of Alice F. Robinson.

WHEREAS, Alice F. Robinson, a passionate educator who served and inspired generations of students during her long and distinguished tenure at Mehfoud Elementary School in Henrico County, died on January 24, 2026; and

WHEREAS, Alice Robinson grew up in Spotsylvania County, where she attended a one-room schoolhouse that served five grades of students at once; she developed her passion for literacy at a young age and subsequently fulfilled her longtime dream to become a teacher when she joined Mehfoud Elementary School in 1971; and

WHEREAS, over the course of more than 50 years, Alice Robinson served as a teacher, student resource teacher, reading intervention associate, and coach; she helped countless young people develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning and an appreciation for the importance of community leadership; and

WHEREAS, Alice Robinson frequently taught different generations of the same family and even served as a teacher-mentor for a former student who also pursued a career in education and began working at Mehfoud Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, Alice Robinson will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by numerous family members, friends, colleagues, and former students; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Alice F. Robinson, a devoted educator in Henrico County; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Alice F. Robinson as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her memory.
