Commending Ruffin Insurance Agency.

WHEREAS, for 30 years, Ruffin Insurance Agency has met the needs of Richmond residents by providing expert assistance with home, auto, business, and life insurance plans, as well as by strengthening the community through outreach programs; and
WHEREAS, founded in 1996 by Albert Ruffin, a lifelong resident of the Richmond area and a graduate of Virginia Union University (VUU), Ruffin Insurance Agency is known for its personalized service and wide range of options to help clients protect their homes and property; and
WHEREAS, the friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff at Ruffin Insurance Agency provide 24/7 assistance to ensure that clients have the support they need in emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his commitment to excellence in the insurance industry, Albert Ruffin has made numerous contributions to Richmond residents as a philanthropist and community leader; and
WHEREAS, Albert Ruffin and his late wife, Helen, started an endowed scholarship at VUU in 2011, and he was named one of VUU's 40 Over 40 in 2024; and
WHEREAS, Albert Ruffin enjoys fellowship and worship with the congregation of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon and church treasurer; he is also an active member of the Freemasons, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and has provided tax and auditing services for these organizations; and
WHEREAS, Ruffin Insurance Agency will commemorate its 30th anniversary in April 2026 with a special event and a fundraiser to support scholarships for students at VUU; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Ruffin Insurance Agency hereby be commended on the occasion of its 30th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Albert Ruffin, owner of Ruffin Insurance Agency, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's legacy of service to the Richmond community.
