Commending David Damon.

WHEREAS, in 2026, David Damon received a third-place award at the ARTfactory's 22nd annual Off the Wall exhibition and competition for his poem “Confined”; and

WHEREAS, the ARTfactory in Manassas invites high school students to display their work in a professional gallery setting, encouraging creativity and artistic growth while providing real-world experience to young artists, such as David Damon; and

WHEREAS, a 10th-grade student at Patriot High School, David Damon was one of more than 70 student artists representing nine high schools in Prince William County at the Off the Wall exhibition and competition; and

WHEREAS, David Damon and the other Off the Wall participants gained valuable insights into art exhibitions and their works were judged by professional artists in various fields; and

WHEREAS, David Damon's third-place award demonstrates his talents as a writer and commitment to excellence in his artistic craft; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That David Damon hereby be commended for finishing in third place in the poetry category at the ARTfactory's Off the Wall exhibition and competition; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to David Damon as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his achievement and best wishes for the future.
