Commending Montgoussaint E. Jons.

WHEREAS, Montgoussaint E. Jons has served the residents of York County for many years as a public servant and a devoted advocate for the community; and

WHEREAS, over the course of 13 years, Montgoussaint “Montee” Jons served as a member and former chair of the York County Planning Commission, in which capacity he provided expert guidance to the York County Board of Supervisors on planning and development issues; and

WHEREAS, Montee Jons played an important role in driving responsible growth throughout York County and served as a passionate voice in local government for members of the community; and

WHEREAS, as vice chair of the steering committee for the York 2040 comprehensive plan, Montee Jons engaged with local residents, businesses, and officials to develop a long-range outlook for community growth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Montgoussaint E. Jons hereby be commended for his service as a member of the York County Planning Commission and contributions to the York County community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Montgoussaint E. Jons as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for his legacy of achievements and dedication to servant leadership.
