Celebrating the life of Alyssa Lynn Albina Kakol.

WHEREAS, Alyssa Lynn Albina Kakol, a respected educator and cherished member of the Ashburn community, who brought great joy to the family members, friends, and students that she cared about deeply, died on December 1, 2025; and
WHEREAS, born in Russia with a cleft lip and palate and adopted at a young age, Alyssa Kakol overcame early adversities in her life to blossom into an accomplished and dedicated young woman; and
WHEREAS, after graduating from Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville in 2010, Alyssa Kakol earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Shenandoah University; and
WHEREAS, Alyssa Kakol embarked upon her teaching career with Loudoun County Public Schools, working tirelessly to nurture her students' well-being while encouraging them to achieve success both in and out of the classroom; and
WHEREAS, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Alyssa Kakol found her true calling in preschool education, and she showed extraordinary dedication and creativity in her efforts to foster each child's potential at the Gardner School of Herndon; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of her devotion to her school and students, she was named Teacher of the Year by her colleagues and leadership team at the Gardner School of Herndon in 2024; and
WHEREAS, Alyssa Kakol never knew a stranger, with a kind and personable demeanor that endeared her to everyone she met; and
WHEREAS, Alyssa Kakol loved music, particularly outdoor concerts, and enjoyed every opportunity to make a connection and build community with others; and
WHEREAS, with resilience, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to helping others, Alyssa Kakol made a positive and lasting impact on all of those who knew her; and
WHEREAS, Alyssa Kakol will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her loving parents, Dennis and Theresa; her siblings, Paul, Laura, Ann, Sara, and Jacob; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Alyssa Lynn Albina Kakol, a treasured member of the Ashburn community whose kind and generous spirit brightened countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Alyssa Lynn Albina Kakol as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for her memory.
