Commending J&K Style Grill.

WHEREAS, J&K Style Grill, a family-owned, Black-owned, military-founded restaurant that began in Norfolk and now has two locations in Virginia Beach, has greatly served the Hampton Roads community for several years; and

WHEREAS, J&K Style Grill was founded in 2014 by Kelvin and LaTonya Dooley, who had a dream of building a restaurant that they could one day pass on to their daughter, Keona; and

WHEREAS, J&K Style Grill offers a sumptuous menu of American classics such as burgers, wings, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, and its signature dish, the Original Waffle Burger; and

WHEREAS, by serving exceptionally delicious food in a warm and inviting atmosphere, J&K Style Grill has become a favored place for family and friends in Hampton Roads to gather; and

WHEREAS, in addition to its restaurant, J&K Style Grill also operates a successful catering business that has served many local events over the years, as well as several distinguished artists, including Shirley Caesar, Jadakiss, 21 Savage, Chubb Rock, and more; and

WHEREAS, J&K Style Grill fosters growth and unity in the Hampton Roads community by mentoring young, aspiring restaurant professionals, supporting local nonprofits and artists, and hosting events such as “Stop the Violence” cookouts; and

WHEREAS, with an unwavering commitment to its customers and the community it serves, J&K Style Grill has become a fixture of the Hampton Roads restaurant scene and an important part of what makes the region a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That J&K Style Grill hereby be commended for its legacy of service; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to J&K Style Grill as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the restaurant's contributions to Hampton Roads and the Commonwealth.
