Commending Krystal Kelly.

WHEREAS, Krystal Kelly, a history teacher at Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach, was named the Tallwood High School Teacher of the Year in 2025; and
WHEREAS, Krystal Kelly is an alumna of Tallwood High School who also holds a bachelor's degree in history from Livingstone College and a master's degree in teaching with a concentration in history education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University; and
WHEREAS, over the years, Krystal Kelly has taught a number of standard and Advanced Placement courses on the subjects of United States history, European history, African American history, and psychology; and
WHEREAS, Krystal Kelly works tirelessly to create a learning environment that nurtures her students' academic, social, and emotional well-being; and
WHEREAS, Krystal Kelly has advanced the education curriculum in Virginia Beach Public Schools as a member of the division's African American History Resources and Design Committee and as a senior project advisor at Tallwood High School; and
WHEREAS, beyond the classroom, Krystal Kelly has supported Tallwood High School and fostered the growth and development of her students as a junior varsity girls' basketball coach, advisor to student council, and department chair; and
WHEREAS, outside of school, Krystal Kelly gives generously of her time for the benefit of her community as an active member of the Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, through her innovation, passion, and unwavering dedication to her students, Krystal Kelly has made a positive and lasting impact on countless lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Krystal Kelly hereby be commended for being named the 2025 Tallwood High School Teacher of the Year; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Krystal Kelly as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her outstanding contributions to the education and success of students in the Commonwealth.
