Commending Eastland United Methodist Church.

WHEREAS, in December 2025, Eastland United Methodist Church opened a Free Fridge and Pantry to provide access to nutritious food for residents of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County in need; and

WHEREAS, with the help of FXBG Free Fridge and Food Rescue, Eastland United Methodist Church installed an outdoor refrigerator and food pantry that are accessible 24/7 for families in need; and

WHEREAS, Eastland United Methodist Church is the first church in the area to establish such a program, which has received an outpouring of support and donations from not only the congregation, but members of the wider community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Eastland United Methodist Church for its work to address food insecurity and alleviate hunger in Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Eastland United Methodist Church as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the congregation's commitment to community service.
