Commending Meg Bohmke.

WHEREAS, Meg Bohmke was elected to the Stafford County Board of Supervisors in 2013 and served the residents of the Falmouth District from 2014 through 2025; she also served one term on the Stafford County School Board; and

WHEREAS, Meg Bohmke was elected by her fellow board members to serve as vice chair of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors in 2017, and she served as chair in 2018, 2020, and 2024; and

WHEREAS, during her tenure, Meg Bohmke advanced transportation improvements in Stafford County, including by advocating for dedicated multi-use paths associated with the Chatham Bridge and Falmouth Bridge projects and improvements to crosswalk infrastructure in the Falmouth District; and

WHEREAS, Meg Bohmke supported smart growth initiatives, including downzoning measures to reduce residential density, and initiated discussions and regulatory revisions concerning data center development; and

WHEREAS, Meg Bohmke supported public safety and education initiatives, including the advancement of school construction and reconstruction projects and the establishment of the North Star Early Childhood Education Center, and welcomed the first combined career and volunteer crew at Fire and Rescue Station 1 in Falmouth; and

WHEREAS, Meg Bohmke partnered with community members and county staff to support recreational improvements in Stafford County, including the development of a skateboard facility at St. Clair Brooks Memorial Park and the opening of an inclusive playground at Chichester Park; she also supported the recognition of Olympic diver Mark Lenzi through the naming of the Curtis Memorial Park pool and the creation of a commemorative mural; and

WHEREAS, Meg Bohmke represented Stafford County through her service with regional and statewide organizations, including the Virginia Association of Counties, the Virginia Railway Express, the Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the George Washington Regional Commission; and

WHEREAS, over her years of service, Meg Bohmke demonstrated dedication to the residents of Stafford County and contributed to the advancement of infrastructure, education, public safety, recreation, and regional cooperation; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Meg Bohmke hereby be commended for her years of service to the Stafford County Board of Supervisors and the residents of Stafford County; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Meg Bohmke as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her service to Stafford County and the Commonwealth.
