WHEREAS, Port City Brewing Company, a beloved brewery in Alexandria serving beer throughout the Commonwealth, Washington, D.C., and the Mid-Atlantic region, celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2026; and

WHEREAS, founded in February 2011 by Bill and Karen Butcher, Port City Brewing Company is the longest-operating brewery in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area; and

WHEREAS, Port City Brewing Company's products include a cherished roster of year-round offerings, as well as an enticing variety of unique seasonal and specialty beers; and

WHEREAS, through tastings, tours, and events at its state-of-the-art facility, Port City Brewing Company has become a favorite spot in Alexandria for friends and family to gather to share a pint; and

WHEREAS, Port City Brewing Company's beers have been recognized with several accolades, including 16 Great American Beer Festival medals, the 2015 Great American Beer Festival Small Brewery of the Year honor, and five World Beer Cup awards; and

WHEREAS, Port City Brewing Company has demonstrated a commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship by adopting brewing practices that conserve resources and minimize the ecological impact of the brewery's operations; and

WHEREAS, with an unwavering commitment to its customers and the community, Port City Brewing Company has brought great pride and distinction to the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Port City Brewing Company on the occasion of its 15th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Port City Brewing Company as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the brewery's contributions to Alexandria and the Commonwealth.
